After this issue, the Journal of the American Medical Directors Association (JAMDA) is undergoing a design change and will no longer feature photographs on the
cover. Thus ends a 7-year odyssey in which I have taken the JAMDA reader with me for
thousands of miles to discover the face of aging. This cover featuring my parents—the
twenty-second time JAMDA has published my photography—is a fitting way to end this
successful run of images that began with a photo of my grandmother at 100 years of
age.
