Acute appendicitis is the most common surgical emergency and becomes serious when
it perforates. The principal presenting complaint of patients with acute appendicitis
is abdominal pain. The diagnosis may be missed in patients with neurological disorders-
in this case multiple sclerosis (MS) and quadriplegia-who do not complain of pain.
There are limited research and practice guidelines for patients with chronic neurodegenerative
disorders with acute abdomen.
