NICHE (Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders) Program: Long Term Care

      The Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) is a nurse-led education and consultation program designed to improve the quality of care for older adults in healthcare organizations. The NICHE clinical practice model seeks to enhance the nursing workforce capabilities to address the unique care needs of older adults. We describe the NICHE Long Term Care program that promotes the use of evidence-based clinical interventions and establishes nurses as leaders to bring about changes in the quality of care delivered to older adults in long term and residential care facilities.
