Impact of Isotemporal Substitution of Sedentary Time With Physical Activity on Sarcopenia in Older Japanese Adults

      To date, the substitution of sedentary behavior for different physical activity levels and the extent that this can reduce the prevalence of sarcopenia remains unclear. Therefore, this study aimed to ascertain the practical effects of replacing sedentary behavior with light-intensity or moderate- to vigorous-intensity physical activity on the prevalence of sarcopenia and subdomain criteria including muscle strength, physical performance, and skeletal muscle mass, according to the latest Asian Working Group for Sarcopenia (AWGS) 2019.
